The OPPO Reno 5G, Huawei Mate 20 X 5G, and Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 5G are the first true 5G smartphones to launch in Switzerland. While the OPPO Reno 5G is exclusively sold via Swisscom, the Huawei Mate 20 X 5G and Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 5G are launched by Sunrise. While these devices are currently available for sale, the carriers will be shipping them out at a later date. Today, Xiaomi also confirmed the availability of the Mi MIX 3 5G smartphone in two more European markets.

It will go on sale starting on May 23rd in Spain and Italy. While the Mi MIX 3 5G with 6GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage is priced at EUR 599 (approx USD 670 / INR 46,500) in Spain, the same device costs EUR 699 in Italy (approx USD 780 / INR 54,500). While both the Mi MIX 3 and Mi MIX 3 5G share the same specifications, the 5G variant comes with a slightly bigger battery and is powered by the new-gen Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Mobile Platform.

Talking about the specifications, the Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 5G sports a 6.39-inch Full HD+ (2340 × 1080 pixels) display with 19:5:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood, the 7nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Mobile Platform comes coupled with Kryo 485 CPU and Adreno 640 GPU. It sports 6GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 64GB of UFS 2.1 flash storage. The device runs on Android 9.0 Pie based MIUI 10 out of the box. The Mi MIX 3 5G and Mi 9 are also part of the Android Q Beta program.

Talking about the cameras, the Mi MIX 3 5G sports dual camera setup on the rear featuring 12MP Sony IMX363 sensor with f/1.8 aperture and a 12MP Samsung S5K3M3+ sensor with f/2.4 aperture. For selfies, it is equipped with a 24MP Sony IMX576 sensor and a 2MP Omnivision OV02A10 sensor. Since the device comes with a slider mechanism, the user has to slide down the display to use the front cameras. The device also comes with a rear-facing fingerprint scanner.

It is backed by a 3,800mAh battery and supports Quick Charge 4.0+ fast charging and 10W wireless charging. Unlike many other 5G smartphones, the Mi MIX 3 5G also supports dual SIM dual standby. Connectivity options 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, NFC, and USB Type-C port. Even with the bigger battery and additional 5G modem, the Mi MIX 3 5G measures the same as last year’s LTE variant. Stay tuned on Phone Radar for more details!
