Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 Smartphone Prototype Shows A ‘Near-Bezelless’ Display

The Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi launched the Mi Mix smartphone last year. Despite being almost a year old now, it is still one of the best-looking smartphones that you can in the market today. The Mi Mix was more or less the trend setter in the market, following the launch of which most other manufacturers also starting shipping devices with fewer bezels. However, with the Mi Mix 2 smartphone, the company is set to take this up a notch and it looks like they are completely getting rid of the bezels on the front.

A new image has now surfaced on the internet and the device in the image is said to be the prototype of the upcoming Mi Mix 2. While the same can’t be confirmed, the device in the image is indeed quite appealing. Taking a look at the image, you can see that it resembles the design of the existing Mi Mix in the market but it also takes it up a notch since the bottom bezel is also gone now. So essentially, the front is all display now, making it look like those concepts smartphone from Hollywood movies which we always wanted.

The smartphone also appears to be thinner than the existing Mi Mix in the market. For reference, the Mi Mix smartphone is 7.9mm thick, so it looks like the Mi Mix 2 could be much thinner than that. Well, now, all we can do is sit back and patiently wait for the smartphone to be officially unveiled, so that we get to know how beautiful it is, from the outside as well as how powerful it is, from the inside. And speaking of power, the rumors suggest that the smartphone will indeed be a powerful device from the inside.

It has been reported that it will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC, which will be coupled with 6GB of RAM. It is also expected that there could be an 8GB RAM variant as well. The front display will be an AMOLED panel and it also looks like we could be getting a 19MP main camera at the back.
