Earlier:

Xiaomi, the Chinese brand which is famous for its smartphones and its operating system called Miui (a forked Android OS) is now stepping into the wearable market with a smart band which is presumably being named the Miband. Although there is no official update or news from Xiaomi or any of its staff, there have been some sightings of the Xiaomi smartband which are confirming the rumours.

There is an event being organized by Xiaomi that is on July 22nd, and the people who will be attending will be getting a free smartband is what the rumours are saying. The first sighting of the smartband from Xiaomi was on the wrist of its CEO, which was being rumored as the Mi Band by Xiaomi and recently there was another sighting. And this time with some photos to prove it with a black band holding a silver device in it on the wrist of its user, which matched exactly to the description of the device that Xiaomi’s CEO was seen earlier with.

Xiaomi’s Mi Band will surely be sporting its customs OS as seen with its smartphone that is the Miui and certainly not the Android wear platform. The device is certainly going to be marketed cheap in the retail market as well as seen with its smartphones that are being sold at a bargain with specs competing with other companies flagship devices. Xiaomi Mi Band is being said to be available in the market at $32 which is a complete bargain price. And the wearable market is going to be set on fire with the pricing, and we have to look at the specifications after any official announcement is made.

So depending on the functionalities of the device whether it is smartphone compatible, fitness tracker with heart rate monitor or pedometer, app compatibility with other operating systems, etc. will make a difference with the competition. So we have to wait till July 22nd to see the specifications and the pricing by Xiaomi, which will be the first device by the company in the wearable market.
