Xiaomi with its array of affordable smartphones has made it to the list of top 5 smartphone brands in the world. In the wearable segment, the company has been in the top position even with limited reach across a few selected Asian markets. The majority of the Xiaomi’s market share came with $30 Mi Band fitness tracker. The company is currently selling the Mi Band 2 which was unveiled almost two years ago.

Today, the company has officially confirmed to launch the Mi Band 3 along with the Mi 8 flagship smartphone on May 31st in China. Just like the Mi Band 2, the new Mi Band 3 will also feature heart-rate sensor. While we don’t expect anything new from this new Mi Band 3, we might see improvements to offer more accurate data. However, the leaks have already confirmed about the small ergonomic changes to offer better comfort for wearing all day long.

During the Black Shark gaming smartphone, Lei Jun gave us the first glimpse at the upcoming Mi Band 3. From the above-featured image, we can see the more rounded design with curved glass on the top. The Bluetooth certification revealed the Mi Band 3 to come with Bluetooth 4.2 connectivity. Talking about the features, it can track the steps, calories burnt, sleep, and heart-rate.

While the previous Mi Bands are known for their long-lasting battery life, the new Mi Band 3 might come with the similar battery life. It could be missing the high-end features like continuous and automatic heart rate tracking. The Mi Band 3 will also show notifications for calls and messages when paired with the smartphone. Also, the user can easily replace the straps.

Based on the recent leaks, the Mi Band 3 might cost 169 Yuan (approx $26 / Rs 1,800) in China. Since there is no official confirmation, take these details with a pinch of salt and wait until the launch day.
