As announced earlier, Xiaomi today launched a new variant of its flagship smartphone called Mi 8 in-display variant. As the same suggests, this new device comes with an in-display fingerprint sensor. The company is already selling the Mi 8 Explorer variant with a transparent back panel and in-display fingerprint sensor. Now, the new Mi 8 variant comes with the glossy back body with gradient finish. The device is now available to pre-order and the sales will begin on September 21st.
The new Xiaomi Mi 8 In-display Fingerprint variant comes in 6GB and 8GB RAM variants and will be available in Gold color options with gradient finish. Coming to the pricing, this new device is priced at 3199 Yuan for the 6GB RAM variant and 3599 Yuan for the 8GB RAM variant. Also, the in-display fingerprint sensor on this device is said to unlock the device 29% faster compared to the earlier launched Mi 8 Explorer variant.
The company also partnered with Unreal Engine to improve the frame rate while playing PUBG. Apart from these changes, the Xiaomi Mi 8 In-display Fingerprint Variant is the same Mi 8 launched earlier this year. It sports a 6.21-inch notch display with Full HD+ (2248 x 1080 pixels) resolution and 18.7:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 Mobile Platform coupled with Adreno 630 GPU and 6GB/8GB of RAM.
Both the 6GB and 8GB RAM variants come with 128GB of internal storage. Talking about the cameras, the Mi 8 in-display fingerprint variant sports 12MP dual rear cameras with 4-axis OIS and a 20MP single front camera with f/2.0 aperture. This new device will also continue to feature Dual-frequency GPS for more accurate location detection. Stay tuned on PhoneRadar for more details!
