Xiaomi to Launch Windows 10 Variant of Mi 5?

From past few months, we have seen many rumors and leaks about the upcoming flagship from Xiaomi. Now we have a glimpse about the looks of the device and possible specifications. The latest rumors suggest the Windows 10 variant if the Mi 5 along with Android variant. The device will be officially launched on February 24th in China and will be showcased at the Mobile World Congress that will be held at the same time in Barcelona.
If the rumors are to believed, there will be no change in the design and specifications of the device, the only change occurs at the software end. It is already confirmed to be powered by Snapdragon 820 quad-core processor. The device might come in two variants with Glass and Metal body, and there is no information about which variant will be running Windows 10.
This is not the first time we will see a Windows 10 device from Xiaomi; the Xiaomi Mi Pad 2 also came with both Android and Windows 10 variants. The 16GB variant of the Mi Pad 2 runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop with MIUI 7 overlaid while the 64GB variant of the same runs on Windows 10 OS. Microsoft also released the Chinese Windows 10 OS for the popular Mi 4 LTE variant where it was originally launched with Android 4.4.3 Kitkat.
Even though if there is no Windows 10 variant of Xiaomi Mi 5, we can least the Windows 10 software package from Microsoft to be made available, same as the Windows 10 for Xiaomi Mi 4. There is no large market share for Windows 10 Mobile in China and even though the mobile penetration isn’t growing as fast as we seen in the past few years.
