After announcing the Mi Air Purifier Pro couple of days ago, Xiaomi has not made this purifier official and launched it at a price of 1,499 Yuan ($222, Rs. 14,800). This Air Purifier Pro has been launched along with the Mi PM2.5 Detector. The Mi Air Purifier 2 was launched in India recently for a price of Rs. 9,999 and the Pro version of this will come with a bigger size that can work in rooms up to 60 square meters.

The Mi Purifier Pro is Wi-Fi enabled, and that makes it compatible with Mi Home app on Android and iOS devices. It comes with an Activated carbon filter along with and Pre-filter and EPA filter. This is a third generation Purifier from Xiaomi line and is also first to feature an OLED display that lets the user monitor the purification.

The Mi Air Purifier Pro weighs 9.7kgs which is double the weight of Mi Air Purifier 2 that weighs at 4kgs. The Pro version can cover an area 60(645 sq. ft) square meters while the Purifier 2 is limited to 37 (400 sq. ft) square meters. The Mi Air Purifier Pro measures 735 mm x 200 mm x 260 mm while the Mi Air Purifier 2 measures just 520 mm x 240 mm x 200 mm.

Both the devices come with inbuilt Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n for Smart connection through Android or iOS. There are temperature and humidity sensors on the device along with the air quality sensors, and these details are sent to the application wherein the user can check the details and act accordingly.

There are many smartphone controls on both the device like Timer, Switch modes, Speed adjustment, Assess comfort levels, Detect temperature and humidity, Detect air quality and Filter change alerts. All these features are to be controlled from the mobile but thank full with the new Mi Air Purifier Pro which comes with an OLED display unlike the Mi Air Purifier 2; we can have all the information on the screen itself.

Both the Air Purifiers will be having features like Air quality indicator light, Wi-Fi indicator light, On/Off, Particle Sensor, Auto mode, Night mode and Manual mode. Moreover, the CADR (Clean Air Delivery Rate) value on the Mi Air Purifier 2 is 310 cubic meters per hour while the bigger Mi Air Purifier Pro has CADR value of 500 cubic meters an hour.

The Mi Air Purifier Pro will go on sale on November 11th along with the Mi PM2.5 Detector which is priced at 399 Yuan (Approx $59). Xiaomi has not mentioned when these devices will be rolled out globally and also did not mention the region of availability. Are you going to get any of these devices? • Pro is more capable to cover large area, and has the OLED display!

Xiaomi launched the Air Purifier 2 last month, so I don’t think it will bring the Pro to India soon!

  • Arpit Porwal

Appropriately priced considering it covers nearly the double area as compare to Air Purifier 2, but it heavy at 9.7 kg. Good to have an OLED display which was missing in Air Purifier 2.
