Xiaomi Introduces Mi Express Kiosks in India, Now Available in Bengaluru

During the  Redmi 7 and Redmi Y3 launch, Xiaomi India also announced the new retail stores called Mi Studios. These are basically the smaller version of the Mi Homes. Today, the company also launched the Mi Express Kiosks in the Indian market. Xiaomi will be selling its smartphones and accessories via these vending machines. The users can opt for credit card, debit card, cash, or UPI as a form of payment for purchasing the Xiaomi products.

According to the company, the Mi Express Kiosks will help the customers get what they needed by eliminating operational and cost inefficiencies. This is the first time we are seeing a smartphone brand selling smartphones via vending machines in India. As of now, the Mi Express Kiosks are only available in a couple of locations in Bengaluru. However, the company is planning to set up more than 50 kiosks in the coming months.

The metro stations, airports, shopping malls, and railways station will be ideal locations for these kinds of kiosks. While the company sells its popular smartphones via flash sales, we don’t think the company will be able to cope up with the demand for smartphones like Redmi Note 7 Pro via these kiosks. Xiaomi recently launched two new budget smartphones in the Indian market. The company also teased to launch a new high-end smartphone in the month of May.

We expect the company to launch the Mi A3 and Mi A3 Lite Android One smartphones. The high-end Mi A3 might come powered by the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 730 Mobile Platform. As per the rumors, the devices will be coming with an in-display fingerprint scanner. We will be knowing more details about the upcoming smartphones in the coming days.
