There have been a lot of rumors and speculations in the past surrounding the news of the Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi entering the U.S market. Most of them were put down last time when one of the company officials spoke to the media. However, according to the latest report which we have, it looks like the company is now all set to enter the North America. Yes, the company has now revealed its plans to officially debut in Mexico.

Xiaomi will be entering the North American market starting with Mexico by selling the Redmi Note 4 smartphone. This is currently the most popular affordable smartphone which you can buy in other markets like India. Xiaomi fans or the ‘Mi Fans’ as you might want to call them, can pick up the Redmi Note 4 from various retailers like Coppel, Best Buy and Sam’s Club, etc. when it gets stocked by the end of this month. As far as the pricing is concerned, the company will be selling the Redmi Note 4 for 5,499 MXN which roughly translates to about $287 or Rs. 18,600. Apart from this, the company is also planning to sell the smaller Redmi 4X in Mexico for about 3,999 MXN which again roughly translates to about $209 or Rs. 14,000. However, this will happen at a later time and it will be also followed by other models as well. The company is said to have been selling the phones in Mexico previously (via partners), however, this particular launch seems to mark its expansion.

And in addition to just the devices, the company will also be bringing the Mi community app to Mexico. This particular Android App is more like a community through which the Mi fans stay connected to the various offers and announcements from the company. Donovan Sung, director of product management and marketing at Xiaomi, said that Mexico is an important market for the company and it acts as a starting point to reach the rest of the Latin America.

As of now, there is no word on the U.S launch of these devices, however, we hope that happens soon after this new launch from the company. Having said that, we would like to know what do you think about this? If you are from the U.S; then would you be interested in buying a Xiaomi smartphone?
