Xiaomi which is one of the biggest smartphone makers around the globe is also well known for making a range of other products. And now, the Co-founder of the company has confirmed that Xiaomi is going to launch a new smartphone in January next year with a 48MP rear camera. This information was mention on the Co-founders LinkedIn account, but nothing more about the devices is mentioned.
Recently we have seen LG filing a patent to bring 16 Rear cameras which are placed in a 4×4 matrix and now phones with a camera hole display are going to be the future after the dual rear camera trend. Way back in 2012, we have seen Nokia launching its Pure 808 Pure View Smartphone with a 41MP camera with Carl Zeiss Optics and since then we haven’t seen many devices with such big sensors.
Initially, there was only one single rear camera on the phones which were 0.3MP (VGA) cameras. Later the sensors resolutions increased and then the selfie camera came into existence. This trend continued for a long time, and recently we have seen smartphones with dual rear cameras, then dual front cameras followed by triple rear cameras.
From the recent news, we have seen companies are getting ready to launch their in-display camera smartphones and Huawei and Samsung were striving to be first in doing so. Samsung has scheduled an event on 10th to launch its Galaxy A8s with the infinity-O display while Huawei is going to launch it’s Nova 4 with a display camera hole on 17th of December.
We do not have much information on the upcoming smartphone from Xiaomi which has been confirmed to launch with a whopping 48MP camera sensor on the rear early next year in the month of January. We can expect more information about this device to pop up in the coming days and until then stay tuned to PhoneRadar for more news and updates and comment in the section below if you have any queries on the same.
