Xiaomi is getting ready to launch a new device in India next week and today it has announced a price drop on a few of its smartphones in the country. A price drop of Rs. 1,000 has been offered to Redmi Note 5 Pro, Mi A2, and Redmi Y2 smartphones. The company said that the reason behind the price drop is that the components cost has gone down for some of the Xiaomi phones leading to a deducted price.
Moreover, Xiaomi also said that it has a philosophy of pricing their devices honestly where they have capped the profit margin to 5 percent for a hardware product. If the company is making more profit, it will give it back to the Mi Fans and this the part of the philosophy. These price drops from Xiaomi are permanent and does not have any time frame for it. The Red Note 5 Pro, 4GB model is priced at Rs. 13,999 while the bigger 6GB RAM variant is priced at Rs. 15,999 in the country.
The Mi A2 is priced at Rs. 15,999 for the 4GB RAM variant while the 6GB RAM variant is priced at Rs. 18,999. The last in the list is the Redmi Y2 smartphone which is priced at Rs. 11,999 for the only variant available. Xiaomi also said that it has announced the price drop because it was announced as the number one Smartphone vendor in India for the 5th consecutive quarter by IDC Quarterly Mobile Phone Tracker.
It is said that Xiaomi is going to launch its Redmi Note 6 Pro smartphone in India on 22nd November and the company has already started sending invites for the same. The device will be coming with a display notch and will go on sale starting from 23rd November, 12 noon. Nothing is known about the pricing yet, which should be revealed at the launch event itself.
