Vivo’s Roadmap for Android 9.0 Pie Based Funtouch OS 9.0 Rollout

Vivo has put forward the plan of updating its list of 2018 devices which will be getting the Android 9 Pie based FuntouchOS. According to the official announcement made by the company, Vivo will open beta programme for a few of its smartphones that were launched in 2018. The update will be rolled out before the end of July 2019 and the list of devices to get the update are mentioned below.

Five models form Vivo which are currently under the beta testing phase are Vivo X21i, Vivo X23, Vivo X23, Symphony Edition, Vivo Z1, Vivo Z1i and few other models like the Vivo X21, Vivo X21 UD, Vivo X21s, Vivo NEX A/S/ dual screen version along with the Vivo Z3i will be available on open beta in June while the Vivo Z3 will get an open beta in July.

As of now, there is no information on the update for the devices that were announced before 2018. Moreover, the roadmap for the Chinese variants and the global variants could be different and might get the updates at different timelines. The update for the Funtouch OS 9.0 will come with a visible overhaul to the UI that includes new style icons along with new wallpapers. It also brings in an Always-on-display along with many other system improvements.

Furthermore, the devices will also get a dark mode that we have seen with Google and other Android OEM’s including in their UI that saves battery consumption.
