Earlier this month, Vivo launched the Vivo Z3x smartphone as an upgrade to last year’s Vivo Z1. Today, the company has officially confirmed to launch a new Z-series smartphone called Vivo Z5x in China on May 24th. The leaked images of the device revealed it to come with a 5,000mAh non-removable battery. We need to wait for a few more days for the complete specifications along with pricing and availability details of the Vivo Z5x smartphone.
The Vivo Z5x also becomes the first Vivo smartphone to come with a punch-hole display. On the front, we might be looking a 6.53-inch Super AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution. It is also mentioned to come powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon Mobile Platform. With the massive 5,000mAh battery, we also expect the device to support at least 18W fast charging. We hope the device comes with a USB Type-C port instead of the dated MicroUSB 2.0 port for charging.
It will be running on Android 9.0 Pie based FunTouchOS 9 out of the box. The recently launched Vivo Z3x came with a 6.26-inch IPS display with Full HD+ (2280 x 1080 pixels) resolution and 19:9 aspect ratio. It sports the same wider notch as seen on the Vivo Z1 smartphone. Under the hood, it is powered by the 14nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 Mobile Platform coupled with Kryo 260 CPU and Adreno 512 GPU. The Vivo Z3x is equipped with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage.
In the camera department, it sports 13MP + 2MP dual camera with f/2.2 aperture and a 16MP front-facing camera for selfies. It is backed by a 3,260mAh non-removable battery and lacks fast charging support. The Vivo Z3x runs on the latest FunTouch OS 9.0 based on Android 9.0 Pie. It supports dual SIM dual standby and also includes MicroSD card slot for storage expansion. The Vivo Z3x is currently retailing for CNY 1198 (approx USD 175 / INR 12,000).
Compared to the Vivo Z3x, the upcoming Vivo Z5x offers much better hardware. However, it might still come with the glossy finish polycarbonate body in gradient colors. We expect the Vivo Z5x to cost anywhere between CNY 1500 and CNY 2000. Stay tuned on Phone Radar for official details including the pricing and availability of the device.
