Last week, the Redmi 7A was spotted on the Chinese certifications website TENAA with the model number M1903C3EE. Now, the listing got updated with the complete specifications of the device. As of now, there is no official confirmation from the company about its launch. However, we expect it to be announced during the Redmi K20 series launch on May 28th in China. The Redmi 7A will be coming with a polycarbonate body and sports 2.5D curved glass on the front.
Talking about the specifications, the Redmi 7A comes with a 5.45-inch IPS display with HD+ (1440 x 720 pixels) resolution and 18:9. Even the last year’s Redmi 6A also came with the same display. While the Redmi 6A is powered by MediaTek Helio A22 chipset, the upcoming Redmi 7A is rumored to use Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset. As per the listing, it comes powered by an octa-core processor clocked at 1.4GHz.
It comes in 2GB + 16GB, 3GB + 32GB, and 4GB + 64GB storage variants. There is also a MicroSD card slot for further expansion of storage. In the camera department, the Redmi 7A sports 13MP camera on the rear with LED flash and a 5MP camera on the front for selfies. The device should be running on Android 9.0 Pie based MIUI 10 out of the box. There is no fingerprint scanner on this device, but it will support face unlock using the selfie camera.
While the Redmi 6A came with 3,000mAh battery, the upcoming Redmi 7A will be equipped with a 3,900mAh battery. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, 3.5mm audio jack, and a MicroUSB 2.0 port. It measures 146.30 × 70.41 × 9.55 mm and weighs 150 grams. As per the listing, the Redmi 7A will be available in Black, Red, Blue, Pink, White, Green, Purple, and Gray color options. With the Redmi 6A, the company offered the loudspeaker on the rear.
