In the last few weeks, we have seen permanent price cuts on several Vivo smartphones. In the coming weeks, the company will also launch the aggressively priced Vivo Z1 Pro smartphone on Flipkart. Recently, there are leaks about the launch of the Vivo Y12 smartphone in the Indian market. The company now silently made it available via Amazon.in and offline stores across the country. Just like many other Vivo smartphones available in the market, the new Vivo Y12 also comes with gradient finish glossy polycarbonate body.
The Vivo Y12 looks the same as Vivo Y15 and even offers the same specifications except for the front-facing camera. It sports a 6.35-inch Halo FullView display with HD+ (1544 × 720 pixels) resolution and 19.3:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood, the device packs the 12nm MediaTek Helio P22 (MT6762) octa-core processor coupled with PowerVR GE8320 GPU. The device comes packed with 3GB/4GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB of internal storage. There is also a MicroSD card slot for expanding the storage further up to 256GB.
On the rear, the Vivo Y12 sports triple camera setup featuring a13MP primary sensor with f/2.2 aperture, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle sensor with f/2.2 aperture, and a 2MP depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture. For selfies, the device comes equipped with an 8MP front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture and supports portrait mode. It is backed by a 5,000mAh non-removable battery but lacks fast charging support. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi (2.4GHz & 5GHz), Bluetooth 5.0, FM Radio, GPS, USB OTG, 3.5mm audio jack, and MicroUSB 2.0 port.
It runs on Android 9.0 Pie-based Funtouch OS 9 out of the box. The Vivo Y12 measures 159.43 × 76.77 × 8.92 mm and weighs 190.5 grams. Both the power button and volume rocker are placed on the right edge. There is also a rear-facing fingerprint scanner on this device. Both the 3GB + 64GB and 4GB + 32GB storage variants of the Vivo Y12 will be available for Rs 12,490. With a slightly better camera, the Vivo Y15 is already retailing for Rs 13,990 in India.
