Last week, Vivo has officially launched the Vivo V9 smartphone in India. It is priced at Rs. 22,990 and comes in Peral Black and Gold color options. While the device is currently available to pre-order, the sales will begin from April 1st. Compared to the Vivo V7, the Vivo V9 packs better hardware and offers premium design. However, we are yet to see a Vivo smartphone with an under-display fingerprint sensor in India.
Below are the three best features of the new Vivo V9 smartphone:
Full View display
The Vivo V9 is the first Android smartphone to launch in the Indian market with a notch. Unlike many other smartphones, the Vivo V9 comes sports a 6.3″ FullView display with minimal bezels on the sides that measures just 1.75mm thin. The display on this device comes with 19:9 aspect ratio that accommodates a few more pixels than the regular Full HD displays. With the 90% screen-to-body ratio, the Vivo V9 comes in a smaller form factor than the other smartphones with smaller displays. The device uses an IPS panel that offers great view angles and it comes protected with a 2.5D curved Gorilla Glass on the top. Instead of the on-screen navigation buttons, the users can also use the gestures for navigating through the FunTouch UI. Even with the large display, the curved rear edges make it comfortable to hold.
Entertainment & Power
The bigger displays are always the best choice for media consumption. You can watch the videos in full screen on the beautiful 19:9 Full HD+ display. The single down-firing speaker on this device is good enough for watching videos and playing music. Apart from the capturing portrait photos with the front and rear cameras, the Vivo V9 is also capable of recording videos in 4K resolution. It is powered by the 14nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 626 octa-core processor and includes 4GB of RAM and 64GB of expandable storage. With these specs, the device can seamlessly handle most of the high-end games and multi-tasking. The smartphone also runs on the latest Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box.
Talking about the Vivo phones, the selfie camera is the most hyped features. The new Vivo V9 got a 24MP front camera with f/2.0 aperture. Vivo also integrated Artificial Intelligence (AI) into the camera app for capturing the best moment without much fuss. However, the same front camera can also authenticate the users face to unlock the device. The user can also opt for both the fingerprint sensor and face access to securely unlock the device. According to the company, the device can identify the light reflecting surfaces and subtle movements to prevent the device from unlocking using photos and videos. As seen with the software-based face unlock feature on other smartphones, the Vivo V9 also unlocks instantly once it recognizes the face.
