Earlier today, OPPO confirmed to unveil the world’s first smartphone with an under-display camera at the upcoming Mobile World Congress Shanghai. Now, the latest post on Weibo confirms Vivo to showcase its first ever 5G smartphone at the same event. Since the event kicks off on June 26th, we will be knowing details about the upcoming Vivo and OPPO smartphones on that day. Last year, Vivo used its NEX smartphone to demo the 5G speeds.

Earlier this year, the company unveiled the APEX 2019 concept smartphone with no hardware buttons or ports. It is also the company’s first smartphone to come with 5G support. Just like the last year’s Vivo APEX, the company isn’t selling the APEX 2019 for the public. However, the new features introduced with this device will be offered with future Vivo smartphones. At the MWC Shanghai, the company might actually launch its first ever commercial 5G smartphone.

As of now, there is no information available about this device. Apart from Vivo, every other Chinese smartphone brand has already unveiled the 5G smartphones. OPPO is already selling the Reno 5G smartphone in Europe. In India, the company is getting ready to unveil the online-exclusive Vivo Z1 Pro smartphone. The Vivo Z1 Pro is the same Vivo Z5x launched in China but comes with a slightly better processor.

The Vivo Z1 Pro comes with a 6.53-inch Full HD+ (2340 x 1080 pixels) display with 19.5:9 aspect ratio and 90.77% screen-to-body ratio. Under the hood, it features 10nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 712 SoC coupled with LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.1 flash storage. On the rear, it sports a 16MP primary sensor with f/1.78 aperture, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle sensor with f/2.2 aperture, and a 2MP depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture. The punch-hole display on the front features a 16MP in-display selfie camera. Stay tuned on Phone Radar for more details about the upcoming Vivo smartphones.
