Vivo Might Launch Bezel-less Smartphone with Dual Selfie Pop-up Cameras

At the MWC 2018, Vivo unveiled the APEX concept smartphone with a true bezel-less display and a pop-up front camera. Later, the company brought this new design concept to the commercial devices with the Vivo NEX. Now in 2019, the company even launched the mid-range devices with a pop-up camera. With the Vivo NEX 2, the company also tried to completely ditch the front camera by adding a secondary display on the rear.

However, the new patents from Vivo confirm the company’s plan to launch smartphones with a pop-up design featuring two cameras sensors. The Energizer P18K Pop smartphone with 18,000mAh battery (video) showcased at the MWC 2019 also came with dual pop-up cameras. Recently, Vivo has brought many innovative features to the smartphone market. With the dual front cameras, we can only expect the selfies to look much better than any other device.

The recently launched Vivo V15 Pro and Vivo V15 smartphones came with a 32MP pop-up camera for selfies. It can even be used for face unlock feature, where the camera automatically pops-out, detects the face and goes back inside. With the pop-up cameras, the companies can offer displays with higher screen-to-body ratio and without any distractions. However, we are also seeing a few companies opting for the punch-hole cameras to cut down the notch experience.

While the punch hole display might not offer the same experience as the true bezel-less display with a pop-up camera, but the device can be waterproofed and there won’t be any mechanical moving parts.
