Update — Vivo will be unveiling the iQOO Neo smartphone next week in China. It is only the second product under this new iQOO series. The latest teaser image posted on the company’s Weibo handle reveals the battery details. While the Vivo iQOO came with a 4,000mAh battery and 44W fast charging support, the iQOO Neo sports 4,500mAh battery and supports 22.5W fast charging via USB Type-C port. With the extra 500mAh battery capacity should compensate for the use of 10nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 Mobile Platform. The complete details including the specifications, pricing, availability will be revealed on July 2nd. On the same day, Xiaomi is also launching the Mi CC 9 and Mi CC 9e smartphones.
Earlier (June 25th) — Vivo already revealed the first look of the upcoming iQOO Neo smartphone. While the earlier launched iQOO smartphone came with 7nm Snapdragon 855 Mobile Platform, the company has confirmed the iQOO Neo to sport 10nm Snapdragon 845 Mobile Platform. Now, the device is listed on the company’s official website revealing two color options. The iQOO Neo will be available in Carbon Black and Aurora Purple colors. However, the AI button only on the Carbon Black variant comes with Red accent.
The iQOO Neo is also confirmed to with touch acceleration technology and will offer 4D haptic feedback. As seen on the Vivo iQOO, the affordable iQOO Neo also comes with a waterdrop notch display. The vertical camera module on the rear now also includes the LED flash. On the Vivo iQOO, the LED flash is placed outside the camera module. Since there is no fingerprint scanner on the rear, we expect the device to offer under-display fingerprint scanner on the front.
The device will be running on Android 9.0 Pie based FunTouch OS 9 out of the box. Both the power button and volume rocker are placed on the right edge. The AI button on the left edge can be used for triggering Vivo’s voice assistant Jovi. From the above featured image, we can confirm there will be no trigger buttons on the iQOO Neo smartphone. The Vivo iQOO launched earlier this year came with both virtual triggers and liquid cooling technology to offer enhanced gaming experience.
Currently, the base variant of the iQOO is retailing for just CNY 2798 (approx INR 28,000) in China. It sports 6.41-inch Super AMOLED display and is backed by a 4,000mAh battery with 44W super fast charging support. On the rear, the Vivo iQOO features a 12MP primary sensor with f/1.79 aperture, a 13MP ultra-wide-angle sensor with f/2.4 aperture, and 2MP depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture. For selfies, there is a 12MP front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture. Stay tuned on Phone Radar for more details!
