Umi Hammer S With Fingerprint Scanner and Type-C USB Port Launched at $150

Umi launched the Hammer S in China for $150 while for international orders it is priced at $160 with free shipping. As we earlier reported the phone comes with USB Type-C port. It is the successor for Umi Hammer which was launched last year. At $130 price range, this smartphone comes equipped with the fingerprint scanner that was available in the flagship models.

The device sports a 5.5-inch 2.5D HD (1280×720) IPS display and is powered by MediaTek MT6735 quad-core processor clocked at 1.0GHz with 2GB of RAM. There is 16GB of internal storage and a battery capacity of 3,200mAh. The rear camera comes with 13MP Sony IMX179 sensor with dual LED flash and a 2Mp front camera for selfies. The company offers a fingerprint scanner placed below the rear camera module at this price range.

Umi Hammer, which was launched earlier this year, has been quoted as one of the toughest devices in the market and now the company teases about an upgraded version of the same. The ‘Hammer S’ which will be the successor of Hammer to come equipped with the Type-C USB port and a fingerprint scanner.

The battery on this device is of 3,200mAh capacity with a standby time of 8-10 days. The battery capacity is almost 30% more when compared to the 2,250mAh capacity on Hammer. It comes with dual SIM dual standby support using the hybrid SIM adapter. Here one SIM can be replaced for using a microSD card with up to 64GB support.

The device comes with ‘Home+’ feature which will works an IR Blaster for controlling all the other electronic appliances. Connectivity on this device include Wi-Fi, 3G, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS/A-GPS and microUSB 2.0. It runs Android 5.1 Lollipop out-of-the-box. The device measures 154 x 77.4 x 8.5 mm and weighs 148 grams. It will be available in the colors – White and Black, and can be purchased starting from September 15.
