Micromax Canvas Selfie 2 & Selfie 3 Smartphones Launched from Rs 5999

Micromax launched a new series called ‘Canvas Selfie’ targeted towards the selfie lovers in the selfie crazy country. The first device in the series is launched way back in December last year called ‘Canvas Selfie‘ with a 13MP front-facing camera. Now the company launched two more new devices ‘Canvas Selfie 2‘ with model number Q340 and ‘Canvas Selfie 3‘ with model number Q348. While the Canvas Selfie 2 is priced at Rs.5,999; the company hasn’t revealed the price of Canvas Selfie 3.

At a price of Rs.5,999, the Canvas Selfie 2 is the cheapest smartphone to feature a 5MP front-facing camera. Along with the Canvas 3, the company also provides a Bluetooth enabled selfie stick for free. Both the devices will be on sale from the last week of this month through offline and online stores all over the country.

Canvas Selfie 3

The Canvas Selfie 3 sports a 4.8-inch HD (1280×720) AMOLED display and Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core unknown processor, we expect it to be a MediaTek processor.

There is 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage along with a microSD card slot for storage expansion. The battery on this device is of 2,300mAh Battery. Coming to the camera, it has an 8MP rear camera and another 8MP camera with Sony MX179 lens on the front. Both the cameras are accompanied with LED flashes.

The camera app on this device comes with beauty mode for better images. It also includes features like Gestures, Face Beauty, Panorama, Night Shot, and One Key Shot. The device comes available in the colors – Blue, Purple, Green, Sky Blue, and Yellow. As announced earlier, the device comes bundled with a Bluetooth enabled selfie stick.

Canvas Selfie 2

The Canvas Selfie 2 features a 5-inch FWVGA (854×480) IPS display and is powered by a quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz with 1GB of RAM. It has 8GB of internal storage and can be further expandable up to 32GB via micrpSD card slot.

The device sports a 2,000mAh Li-ion battery that can be user replaceable. It runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop out-of-the-box. From the above image, we can see a matte finished leather-like back panel that gives a premium look to the device.

The cameras on the Canvas 2 are of 5MP rear camera with OmniVision OV5648 sensor and a 5MP front camera with OmniVision OV5670 sensor. Both the device comes with 4P lens for better zoom clarity. At least on paper, this is the best camera smartphone for Rs.5,999.
