TrueCaller Adds Shareable Links & Request Money Options in the Payments Menu

The popular caller id app, TrueCaller has offered a bunch new options in the last few months. Now, the company has introduced a couple of new options under the TrueCaller Payments menu. With the newly added ‘Request Money’ option, the user can request the other contacts to send the money via TrueCaller app. The another new feature is the shareable links for faster payment. While these new options can be found in the Android app, there is no information whether these options are available for iOS app or not.

For the Request Money, the user has to link the bank account to the TrueCaller profile using the Unified Payment Interface (UPI) service. Once the account is linked, the user can create a custom Virtual Payment Address (VPA). Once the user taps on the Request Money option, the requested contact will receive the notification on their smartphone. All they have to do is to click on the notification and authorize the transaction using the MPIN. TrueCaller has partnered with ICICI for the UPI-based mobile transactions.

Talking about the shareable link, the custom link of the specific account can be shared with other users for making instant transactions. The copied shareable link can be shared via SMS, instant messaging, or social media platforms. However, both the users have to install the TrueCaller app and need to setup the UPI based payment service to make use of these two new options. Back in March this year, the company introduced the options to make video calls and prepaid recharges. To make the video calls, both the users have to install the Google Duo app, and it will work on both the Android and iOS devices.

Unlike the TrueCaller Pay, the Google Duo integration will be available to all the 250+ million global users. TrueCaller also partnered with several smartphone manufacturers to make TrueCaller as the default dialer app. The Swedish-based company has the largest user base in India with over 130 million users. While the company has recently crossed 90 million active users, we will soon see 100 million active users on this platform. Even the TrueCaller Payment option is exclusive to the Indian market. We also expect to see even more new features in the coming months. Stay tuned on Phone Radar for more updates!
