Should I call this madness or stupidity? Well, whatever it is, two Indians are caught for allegedly robbing a truck in New Delhi that was carrying more than 1,000 iPhone 5s mobile phones worth 2.25 crore. According to the Delhi Police, the accused persons are identified as Mehtab Alam (24) and Arman (22), both being residents of Mahipalpur Delhi. Methab Alam was arrested from Mahipalpur and Arman was arrested at Rangpuri area of South Delhi.
According to the reports, the robbery had taken place on 13th of September when the robbery was carrying the mobile phones from Okhla area of South Delhi to Dwarka in South-West Delhi. Deputy Commissioner of Police Ishwar Sing told that the two were accompanied by few others and held the truck driver captive before robbing the mobile phones near the Rajokri flyover. Later the driver was dumped near Dwarka Link Road.
The Officer said that Bhola and Pradeep were former drivers of the truck and left their jobs two weeks ago and also said that both the drivers had followed the same route which used by the truck carrying the mobile phones, Singh said.
The accused have confirmed to have committed the crime along with their accomplices Bhola, Rahul and Jitender and the police are conducting raids to arrest the remaining members of the gang. Although the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus are soon coming to India, the craze for the previous versions of the iPhones has not been reducing considering so many devices are getting transported.
