In December last year, Swipe launched its most affordable 4G VoLTE enabled smartphone called Swipe Konnect 4G for just Rs. 2,799. Today, the company launched a new Konnect Star 4G smartphone priced at Rs. 3,799. With a slightly higher pricing than the earlier launched Konnect 4G, this new device comes with few upgrades. It will be available in Silver, Gold, and Grey color options. Just like the Konnect 4G, the new Konnect Star is also sold exclusively through Shopclues. The device comes bundled with Jio Happy New Year offer for using Jio 4G SIM with unlimited free 4G internet (FUP @ 1GB/day), voice calls, and SMS till March 31st, 2017.

With its very affordable price tag, the Konnect Star comes with a polycarbonate shell. It sports a 4-inch FWVGA (854 x 480 pixels) display and includes very large bezels on all the four sides. The device comes powered by an unspecified quad-core processor clocked at 1GHz. While the Konnect 4G came with just 512MB of RAM, the new Konnect Star includes 1GB of RAM. While the 1GB RAM will not be sufficient for multitasking, it will be good enough for doing basic operations. Even the storage is increased from mere 4GB to 16GB, and there is also MicroSD card to expand further. There are few pre-loaded apps like Flipkart and Opera Mini.

It sports a 5MP rear camera with LED flash and a 1.3MP selfie camera on the front. These are the same sensors which we have earlier seen on the Konnect 4G. The 1800mAh Li-Ion battery is rated to give 10 hours of talk time and lasts upto 180 hours on standby mode. It supports dual SIM dual standby and as mentioned earlier it offers 4G VoLTE for faster data speeds and making HD voice calls. Other connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, FM Radio, 3.5mm Audio port, and a MicroUSB 2.0 port. The Konnect Star runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with almost stock UI. The company also mentioned the device to support 12 Indian regional languages.

The device also includes Proximity and G-Sensor. It has three capacitive buttons below the display for recent apps, home, and back (left to right). Swipe is also offering Rs. 200 off for the first 500 customers who register on the Shopclues website.
