We have been hearing a lot about wearable in India, with international brands like Jawbone, Fitbit, and Misfit making an official entry into the country; it was only obvious that some Indian brands would also jump on this bandwagon. Just like that Swipe Telecom, a big name in tablet business in India has launched their first fitness band, aptly named Swipe FBand.
From the looks of it the band maybe specifically design for females, and that’s why FBand. That’s what was thought, but it seems different as males have also seen wearing the band in the images on Snapdeal, where company is exclusively selling their first fitness band. Keeping aside its looks, the band seem to offer a good set of functions for the relatively affordable pricing of Rs 1499. While for first 100 customers it’s available for Rs 1299. Now that is a good offer.
Coming to the talk of its features, the FBand sports a circular dial with the display, the specifics like size and technology of it is unknown for now, as company hasn’t shared that information. Users can keep tracks of their activities like daily step count and calorie burn, as well sleep tracking. The stats would be displayed on the circular screen. It can calculate your sleep quality as it can analyze sleep patterns and thus suggest some measure to improve it.
All the recommendation and analysis happens inside the proprietary FBand app. You can access all the sleep and fitness records when syncing the data via Bluetooth connection between smartband and smartphone. The device can also alert you about the incoming calls while there is no mention about texts alerts on the smartband.
The FBand would be available for purchase in two colors; Red and Blue. Powered by a 55mAh capacity battery, company claims that it would be giving up to 7 days of usage time. That is as good as it gets on a smart band with display. If you’re looking for fitness band with the display, then this Swipe fitness band is one of the best options you have got. Because, other than Yu Fit band, there is no band priced less than Rs 2K that would be offering a display and usual fitness feature.
The fitness tracker competition revolves around the like of Xiaomi Mi Band, Yu Fit, GOQii Band and recently launched Misfit Link, which was launched along Shine and Flash bands. Of course, there are other brands like Portronics and Honor that have launched fitness bands with display but they are bound to cost more than Rs 3K. All these bands can only track your steps and few other usual activities. But the recently upgraded Xiaomi Mi Band Pulse comes at 99 Yuan ($15) that has a heart rate monitor as well. Now wouldn’t that be interesting if it finds the way to India pretty soon.
