A couple of years back, we covered about the SUGAR smartphones which came with Swarovski Crystals. The company now launched a new smartphone called SUGAR F20 in Taiwan. While the device looks premium design, it sports entry-level specifications. The gradient colored body comes with a large camera module which also houses the circular fingerprint scanner. As seen on the Nubia Red Magic smartphones, there is a large RGB LED strip placed on the rear of the SUGAR F20. The device is said to come with AI translator which offers 24×7 real-time translations.
SUGAR is also offering discounted sim-free roaming plans for accessing 4G data across the globe using the eSIM technology. The SUGAR F20 will be available in Gradient Red and White color options. It is priced at NT$ 9,900 (approx USD 320 / INR 22,300) and is currently available only in Taiwan. The device comes with a 6.26-inch IPS display with Full HD+ (2246 x 1080 pixels) resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio. On the top, there is also a 2.5D curved glass protection on the top. Under the hood is the 14nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 octa-core processor coupled with Adreno 506 GPU.
It offers 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage that can be further expandable up to 128GB via MicroSD card slot. Talking about the cameras, there is a 12MP + 2MP dual camera setup on the rear with f/2.2 aperture and an 8MP selfie camera on the front with f/2.0 aperture. It also runs on the older Android 8.1 Oreo and we don’t think the company will be releasing Android 9.0 Pie update anytime sooner. It is backed by a 6,000mAh non-removable battery and supports Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging technology. With the less powerful specifications, the device will easily last more than a day of regular usage.
With the huge battery capacity, the device can also be used for charging other devices using the reversing charging feature. It also comes equipped with stereo speaker setup for immersive multimedia consumption. The SUGAR F20 measures 158.5 x 75.4 x 11.2 mm and weighs 210 grams. While there is a rear-facing fingerprint scanner, the device also supports face unlock. Both the power button and volume rocker are placed on the right edge. With these specifications, the device seems to be a bit overpriced. Stay tuned on PhoneRadar for more updates!
