Apple launched the new iPhones a couple of months back, and both the new variants are now available to purchase in most part of the world. And if you have been following the news lately or already know about the iPhones, then you probably already know how fast these smartphones are. Some of the benchmark shows that these smartphones are even better than some of the MacBook Air models as well. So when you compare one of these with any other smartphone, you will pretty much see some very good results.
So now let’s talk about a very unusual comparison here. What happens when you compare the iPhone 7 Plus with a smartphone which costs pretty much six times less than the cost an iPhone 7 Plus. Yes, we talking about the UMi Plus smartphone here. And if you are aware, the UMi Plus smartphone costs only about 13,000 INR (converted price), whereas an iPhone 7 Plus costs 72,000 INR for the base model. So the price difference is significant here. Well, the result should be an interesting one to see.
But before that, let’s quickly glance through the specs of both the devices. The Apple iPhone 7 Plus is powered by quad-core Apple A10 Fusion processor and it comes with 3GB of RAM. It packs 32GB of internal storage which cannot be expanded. The phone comes with a 5.50-inch Retina touchscreen display with a resolution of 1080 pixels by 1920 pixels at a PPI of 401 pixels per inch. As far as the cameras are concerned, the Apple iPhone 7 Plus packs a 12-megapixel primary camera on the rear along with a telephoto lens and a 7-megapixel front shooter for selfies. The Apple iPhone 7 Plus runs iOS 10 and is powered by a 2900mAh non-removable battery.
The UMi Plus, on the other hand, comes with a 5.50-inch touchscreen SHARP display with a resolution of 1080 pixels by 1920 pixels at a PPI of 401 pixels per inch. It is powered by Helio P10 Octa Core processor and it comes with 4GB of RAM. The phone packs 32GB of internal storage and can be expanded up to 128GB. As for the cameras, the UMi Plus packs a 13-megapixel primary camera on the rear and a 5-megapixel front shooter for selfies. The UMi Plus runs Android 6.0 (7.0 already on development) and is powered by a 4000mAh non-removable battery.
For this test, instead of going for typical benchmarks, both the smartphones will be put through a couple of tests which will resemble some day to day activities, to see how they both fair when it comes to real life usage. So both the smartphones were put through a series of opening and reloading apps. Nothing complex here, so we are basically looking at a typical speed test that we are used to. You can check out the video below for more brief info on how te speed test went. Although we are looking a significant price difference here, the performance difference is not that much.
As you can see from the video, although the iPhone 7 Plus gives an overall better performance, the UMi Plus is not that far behind as well. And especially when you see the price, the UMi Plus is definitely a steal here. All the apps, pretty much open at the same time or even there is a difference, it is not much. So overall from the price standpoint, the UMi Plus smartphone is definitely worth the money. Well, so now that you can see the video for yourself, it is pretty much up to you to decide, which one is better when it comes to day to day performance.
