Sony Xperia Z5 Premium announced with 4K Display for £699 in the UK

Sony has announced its range of Xperia handset (Xperia Z5 and Xperia Z5 Compact) at the IFA Expo happening in Berlin this week. At a press conference, the company announced a smartphone with 4K Display. The Xperia Z5 Premium is the device, which is sporting the 3840 x 2160 display resolution, resulting in a PPI (Pixel Per Inch) count of more than 800, which nearly double than the current standard among the flagship devices, may it be premium.
The Xperia Z5 Premium would pack all that sharpness in the 5.5-inch display, which sounds crazy. It would be company’s first flagship device packing a large screen. The device is also sporting a 3GB of RAM and internal storage options starting from 32GB. The device is powered by a Snapdragon 810 processor, which is the latest and fastest chipset in the market right now. It would be running on the Android Lollipop 5.1.1 based Xperia custom UI, which is improved a lot according to the company.
The camera department has finally been bumped up to 23MP with an aperture of f/1.8, which makes it a direct competitor to the LG G4 having same aperture number. It is said to have a world’s fastest autofocus on a smartphone at 0.03 seconds.
Talking about the front facing camera, the Z5 premium packs 5MP resolution camera with 25mm wide-angle lens. Sony claims that it has made improvements in stabilization in captures with SteadyShot technology, meaning you should be able to capture video content smoothly and shudder-free.
The device is said to come with a massive 3430mAh battery, which is good considering other premium handsets with similar size, but if a device sporting Ultra 4K display, then it is hard to believe that battery juice would last even half the day. Though, company claims that its latest premium flagship would give you 2 days stamina battery.
Sony has also included a Fingerprint sensor on a power button placed on the right edge. It is a welcome edition on Xperia devices and is compatible with FIDO online payments, which is a nice thing. Being a waterproof (IP 65/68 rating) device, the Z5 Premium comes in Chrome, Black and Gold color variants, and will be out for sale in November this year. The Xperia Z5 would be coming in dual SIM variants too. The official Sony e-store has listed the device for a price of £699 ($1068) in the UK and €799 ($897) in other European countries.
