Sony has been in the wearable market since quite a time now (even longer than Samsung), as it move to more concrete bands and finally an Android wear Sony Smartwatch. Now let’s talk about the other big upgrade on the new SmartBand Talk. The Japanese manufacturer has also added a new functionality to make and take calls from the newly announced Smartband.

Of course, again, Sony’s LifeLog app is at the centre of the SmartBand Talk experience, as it can track everything you do and let you set daily goals for distance travelled etc. All these stats will be displayed on the new 1.4-inch e-paper display and also giving you the option to customize what you see on the display like steps taken, distance travelled, and time.

Company has intelligently utilized the newly added microphone, as it will also support the voice control functions, meaning you don’t have to take your phone out of the pocket. And its 70mAh battery is claimed to be lasting for at least 3 days on a full single charge. The other set of notable connectivity features are NFC and Bluetooth, as it will allow more devices to be compatible with SmartBand Talk.

The IP68 certification shows that the device can be submersible to 2 m (6 ft 7 in) for 30 minutes in water and is also impervious to dust and micro-particles, which means wherever you go, your SmartBand Talk will remain as stylish as ever. The device only weighs 26 grams including the core and strap.

The exact release date is not known, but it will go on sale sometime in October and will cost you €159, approximately $209.
