Several Huawei Mate 20 Pro Users Reporting Green Tint Problem

Earlier this month, Huawei unveiled the Mate 20 smartphones at an event held in London. The Huawei Mate 20, Mate 20 Pro, Mate 20 X, and Porsche Design Mate 20 RS smartphones were first launched in China on October 26th. While the Mate 20 RS will go on sale starting November 10th, all the other devices were made available on the launch date itself. Out of the three Mate 20 devices that were on sale, only the Mate 20 Pro comes with an AMOLED panel.

Now, there are several users on Weibo are complaining about the green tint issue on the Huawei Mate 20 Pro smartphones. It is very much similar to the green tint issue on the Apple iPhone X’s OLED display. Unlike Apple, it’s not new for Huawei to use the AMOLED panels on their smartphones. While its a serious quality control issue, we hope the company fix this issue before selling it in other markets. The Mate 20 Pro will be the first Mate series smartphone to launch in India.

While there is no information about the exact launch date of the Mate 20 devices in India, they will be launching in November as Amazon India exclusive. As the Mate 20 and Mate 20 X smartphones comes with LCD panels, there is no display issues on them. While the company has sourced AMOLED panels from BOE and LG for the Mate 20 devices, a majority of the green tint reports are coming from the devices with LG panels.
