Selfie-Focused Xiaomi Redmi Note 5A to Sport 16MP Front Camera & 36 Beauty Modes

Xiaomi has officially confirmed to launch the Redmi Note 5A smartphone on August 21st in China. The company also revealed few key details of the device. The upcoming Redmi Note 5A will come with a whopping 16MP front-facing camera. While the other major Chinese brands have already launched selfie-centric smartphones, Xioami will be the late entrant to capture the selfie craze. The company is also expanding its offline presence in China and India. In India, the company had already launched two Mi Home outlets and will be opening more in the coming soon.

Talking about the Redmi Note 5A, it comes with a metal finish body and will be available in two different variants. Apart from the RAM and storage differences, the low-cost variant will be skipping the fingerprint sensor. Xiaomi is also offering 36 beauty modes to make the selfie look better. Both the front and rear cameras will be accompanied with LED flash. The MicroUSB 2.0 port along with the loud speaker and primary microphone are placed on the bottom edge. We expect the device to come with Android 7.1.1 Nougat based MIUI 9 out of the box.

The power button and volume rocker are placed on the right edge, while the hybrid SIM slot is on the left edge. There are three capacitive navigation buttons placed beneath the display. From the images, we can see the device in Gold, Rose Gold, and Grey colors. The device comes with 5.5-inch display and Snapdragon 425/625 processor. On the rear, the device is expected to feature a 13MP sensor. While the Redmi Note 4 with 5.5-inch display came with 4,100mAh battery, the Redmi Note 5A with the same form factor packs a smaller 3,000mAh battery.

The complete specifications along with pricing and availability of the device will be announced on the launch day.
