Samsung announced their personal assistant called Bixby, back in the month of March at the launch of the Galaxy S8 smartphones. Ever since then, there have been a lot of delays due to multiple issues with the compatibility, etc. At one point, Samsung, in fact, said that Bixby was having trouble understanding English. However, after all the delays, the assistant was rolled out in the U.S; whereas, it was still pending to be pushed. However, now it looks like it is finally happening.
Yes, Samsung has uploaded a video teaser, which clearly says that the assistant will be rolled out globally today. The video teaser is quite short, it is just 7 seconds long to be precise, however, it clearly says that the update will be rolled out on August 22nd i.e. today. Since this is a global roll out, we expect them to push the update on the same day everywhere, which includes India as well. You can check out the video teaser which is embedded down below.
Yesterday, there were multiple reports out there which claimed that the company did roll out the features like Bixby Global Action, Bixby Dictation, Bixby Wake up and Bixby PLM. It was reported that these things were already pushed in countries like U.K., South Africa, India, Netherlands, Germany, France, Italy, Argentina, Afghanistan, Iran, the UAE, Australia, the Philippines, Malaysia, and Pakistan. Also, you don’t really have to be an expert to understand that these are indeed Bixby’s features.
Do make a note that none of those features were working, however, now, it is only a matter of time until Samsung pushes an update to get things going. Having said that, we don’t exactly know when the feature will be ready to be used. In any case, if you own a Galaxy S8 smartphone, we highly suggest you stay in a lookout for the same.
Also, we are glad that the company has made this update available just in time for the launch of the Galaxy Note 8. For those of you who don’t know, the Galaxy Note 8 is all set to be unveiled tomorrow in New York. And yes, the new Note phablet will also have Bixby and in fact, the dedicated Bixby button is making a comeback as well. Stay tuned to PhoneRadar for more details on this.
