Samsung stops shipping Galaxy Note 7 in South Korea after Reports of Note 7 units Exploding

When Samsung launched its latest Note family offering earlier this month in the form of Note 7, many of us were pretty excited as the device was everything any Android enthusiast would want. But past week seeing reports of Galaxy Note 7 being exploded, the consumers around the world are alarm.

In the wake of such incidents, the South Korean giant has stopped the shipments of its Note 7 smartphone in their homeland. As the reports of Note 7 units exploding while charging popped up online, Samsung decided to stop the shipments of sold units, according to the South Korea’s Yonhap News Agency (YNA).

A mere five days after official launch, reports of Galaxy Note 7 malfunctioning popped up, and the brand is taking this issue very seriously as shipments have been halted. It was reported that Note 7 enjoyed a higher number of sales during the first week than Galaxy S7. But the shiny new phablet is turning out to be less reliable device than it’s sibling.

If you were living under the rock up until now, you could check our recent reports about Note 7 exploding while charging. Jogging up your memory, the device comes with 4GB of RAM, 64GB of internal storage and Quad-core Snapdragon 820 processor. It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow, while on top is running on TouchWiz UI. It sports a 5.7-inch 2K display and packs 3500 mAh capacity battery.

Do make a note that YNA spoke to Samsung and the company official has declined to confirm or deny the news regarding shipment suspension of Note 7 units. But there are reports cited by YNA that South Korea’s SK Telecom Co., KT Corp and LG Uplus Corp carriers have stopped receiving Note 7 units as of last week.
