Samsung Might Launch Galaxy J7 Prime as Galaxy On NXT with Snapdragon 625 SoC

Samsung India is teasing the launch of a new Galaxy On NXT smartphone. It will be unveiled on October 20th and is exclusively sold through Flipkart. The official support page listing of the Galaxy On NXT mentioned the device to come with the model number SM-G610. Interestingly, the Galaxy J7 Prime that is launched in the Indian market in September also came with the same model number. While there is no official confirming, we expect the Galaxy On NXT to be the same Galaxy J7 Prime but with few upgrades in terms of specifications. As teased earlier, the device will feature an all-metal unibody design.

We can find the loudspeaker on the right edge of the device sitting just above the power button. The Galaxy On NXT might feature a 5.5-inch display with Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution. While the Galaxy J7 Prime came with an Exynos 7870 octa-core processor clocked at 1.6GHz, the Galaxy On NXT will be powered by 2.0GHz Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor coupled with Adreno 506 GPU. It will include the same 3GB of RAM, but the onboard storage will be doubled up to 32GB.  There will be MicroSD card slot for storage expansion upto 256GB.

There will be a 13MP camera with f/1.9 aperture and LED flash on the back. For selfies, the smartphone is equipped with an 8MP front camera with the same f/1.9 aperture. The physical home button on the front might come equipped with a fingerprint sensor as well. With all those powerful specifications, the device is kept powered on by a 3,300mAh non-removable battery and also supports fast charging. It supports dual SIM dual standby and offers 4G VoLTE for using the Jio 4G SIM. Take these details with a pinch of salt as the official specifications will be announced on October 20th.

Earlier this month, the company launched the new smartphone in the Galaxy On series exclusively on Flipkart. The new Galaxy On8 with the model number SM-J710 is priced at Rs. 15,900. It comes with the same 5.5-inch Full HD display but sports Super AMOLED panel. The device is powered by the Exynos 7580 octa-core processor and packs 3GB of RAM and 16GB of storage. In the camera department, the Galaxy On8 has the same 13MP camera as on Galaxy J7 Prime and Galaxy On NXT, but the front camera is only limited to 5MP sensor. It is backed by the same 3,300mAh battery and runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out of the box.

The Galaxy On8 measures 151.7 x 76 x 7.8 mm and weighs 169 grams. It is available in Gold and White color options, and Flipkart is offering an additional discount of Rs. 1,000 on Galaxy On8 (Buy Now) for a limited time along with a free 32GB MicroSD card worth Rs. 899.

that will be a tough competition to Zenfone3 and Moto x Play if it comess at less than 16k!!

    • Mr.Frank

Won’t happen, Samsung always overprices its devices.

The Moto X Play is woefully underpowered (SD615), so not a competitor. The Zenfone 3 is priced at a premium so it cannot be a competitor either.

All of this theory can go for a toss if Samsung decides to price it around the Zenfone 3.

Will wait for its Price confirmation.
