Meizu has launched quite a few smartphones in this year including the offline exclusive devices like Meizu U10 and U20. Today a new smartphone codenamed Meizu M5 is spotted on Weibo. It comes with a polycarbonate shell and might come with an affordable price tag. Even the specifications of the device are pretty basic. It has scored just 40,140 on the Antutu benchmarking app. Just like the other Meizu smartphones, there is an oval shaped mBack home button that supports several gestures. It has rounded corners with a 2.5D glass on the front.
The device runs on the Flyme OS based on Alibaba’s Yun OS 5.1.1. Alibaba is also one of the investors in the Meizu and also launched few Yun OS powered smartphones earlier to this. However, these are only limited to just Chinese market while few of the Android powered devices are sold in foreign markets like India. It might sport a 5.5-inch display with just HD (1280 x 720 pixels) resolution. Under the hood, it is powered by the MediaTek MT6750 octa-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz and coupled with Mali T860 GPU.
It packs 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage that can be expandable with the provided MicroSD card slot. There is a 13MP camera on the back of the device. There is no other information about the device, but we can expect it to be launched soon at least in China. The Meizu M3 that was launched in China in the first half of 2016 also came with the similar specifications. While the Meizu M3 lacks the fingerprint sensor, the company might add that to the Meizu M5.
In May this year, Meizu launched the mid-range Meizu M3 Note at Rs. 9,999 in India and is sold exclusively through Amazon India. The device comes with a unibody design metal design built out of Aluminum. It sports a 5.5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) display and packs Helio P10octa-core processor. A few days back, MediaTek has introduced the Helio P15 SoC as the successor to the pop[ular Helio P10. Unlike the Meizu M3 and M5, the M3 Note runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop based Flyme OS 5.1. It comes with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. There is a 13MP rear camera with PDAF and a 5MP selfie camera with an aperture of f/2.0.

The home button on the front is integrated with the fingerprint sensor. It measures 153.8 x 75.6 x 8.2 mm and weighs 163 grams. The device supports 4G VoLTE and can be used with the Jio 4G SIM. The Coolpad Note 5 with Snapdragon 617 SoC & 4GB RAM is now available in the market. It comes with a price tag of just Rs. 10,999 and sports more than impressive specifications and build quality. This runs on Android 6.0 based Cool UI and also sports a large 4,010mAh battery. Even with a slightly higher price tag, the Coolpad Note 5 will be a better purchase when compared to Meizu M3 Note.
