The South Korean Giant has started rolling out a new update for the Galaxy Tab Active 2 tablet which will be bringing Android 9 Pie Update. This Rugged device is getting the Android Pie flavor in Italy but it is only for the LTE model with the model number SM-T395. The version of the software is T395XXU4CSF1 and is expected to come to the Wi-Fi model as well but nothing is mentioned about it as of now.
The tablet was launched with android 7.1 Nougat OS in the last quarter of 2017 and now it is getting the latest Android update. The device is also receiving Android security patch for the month of June 2019 and also comes with standard features that come along with Android Pie. It also gets Samsung’s new One UI custom skin which has many new features but we need to see how many of them will be seen on the Galaxy Tab Active 2.
The update is being rolled in Italy via OTA and it will be reaching the users depending on the region there are in. So it might take some time before it reaches your device. You can always check for the update manually by heading to the settings of the handset and then click on the Software update and download it manually. To remind you, the handset is a rugged tablet with IP68 certification for Dist and waterproofing and is also MIL-STD-810G compliant. It has an 8-inch display with 800 x 1280 pixels resolutions giving a 16:10 aspect ratio.
It is powered with an Exynos 7870 octa-core processor with 1.6 GHz Cortex-A53 chipset coupled with 3GB of RAM and 16GB of onboard storage. Furthermore, there is a microSD card to extend the storage up to 256GB. There is an 8MP main camera on the rear with LED flash and a 5MP selfie camera. On the front, there is a fingerprint sensor and is powered with a 4450mAh battery on the back with the type-C charging port.
