Samsung is all set for the launch of its upcoming smartphone in the Galaxy S Series called the Galaxy S8. Earlier it was reported that the company would be launching the smartphone in the month of February next month at the Unpacked event in Barcelona. However, now we do have some new reports which claim that the launch may be pushed back to April. While we don’t know the exact launch date of the smartphone as of now, we do know that the launch is imminent. The Galaxy S8 is expected to be a huge upgrade from the predecessor and from what we have heard it looks like the upgrade is going to cost fairly more compared to the last year’s model.
According to the reports, Goldman Sachs which is one of the world’s most famous financial institution has predicted that the overall retail price of the smartphone is going to increase for customers. It is believed that the raw material cost for the Galaxy S8 is going to increase by 15 to 20-percent in comparison to the cost of Galaxy S7. Along with that, Goldman Sachs has also predicted that the South Korean smartphone manufacturer will also introduce a new AI-based Virtual Assistant along with the Galaxy S8 smartphone. We have already heard about the Virtual Assistant part multiple times previously as well and hence it looks like it is happening after all.
Samsung also faced a huge loss with the whole Note 7 explosion fiasco which apparently counts for billions of dollars. Samsung had to recall pretty much all the Note 7 smartphone that they sold worldwide and had to refund them. The company also stopped the production of the Note 7 smartphones completely now. Hence the overall production cost along with the money spent on marketing etc. stands as a huge chunk of money. So most people are predicting that the company will definitely try to make it up with the Galaxy S8 price. However, it is too soon to predict something like this so early in the time since we are still months away from the launch. We don’t even know if the smartphone will be a major departure or will boost some similar looking design and features etc.
If you are interested to know more about the smartphone then be sure to stay tuned to PhoneRadar as we will update once we have more details on the same. Also, let us know what do you think about this upcoming Galaxy S8 smartphone from the company.
