Samsung Galaxy S7 & S7 Edge running Android 7.0 Nougat shows new modes & major visual changes

Samsung announced the new Android 7.0 Nougat beta program for the Galaxy S7 and the S7 Edge previously and it is open to those who have either of these hadnsets in select countries. As of now only registrations are open for the same and hence the roll out is due for sometime later. Do make a note here that although if you get the update, this is not the final release and it is ought to have some bugs and freezes and force closes. If you are okay with that then you sign up for the same and load it onceyou get the firmware.

According to Samsung, this new update will bring some new features that were available with the Grace UX for the Galaxy Note 7. These include a new look for Always-on Display, performance and battery saving modes, etc. Below are some of the new fucntionalities that you should be expecting from the new update –

Always-On Display –

Although Samsung pushed a small update recently to the Galaxy S7 and the Edge variant with some of the new Always-on display features, more of them are baked right into the new Nougat update and will be available for everyone to use. These includes clock faces and much more.

Transparent folders and In-call background change –

Samsung is quite known for its heavy interface elements, with distinct backgrounds etc. For a change this time around, the folder backgrouds will be transparent. This is something that every Samsung user wanted. Also, the in-call background get a new colorful change here this time around.

New settings and notification bar –

This new update also come with a differnt looking notification shade and also a new settings panels. The settings panel on the previous version came with a differnt settings menu which was comparatively better than the previous ones. However, this new interface also brings some better visuals to the table which is always welcomed by the users.

New Power modes and display options –

With the launch of the Note 7 smartphone, the company brought a couple of new power saving modes and performance tweaking options. One such feature was changing the resolution of the display from QHD to FHD or even HD. Well, now the exact same options will now be found on the new Galaxy S7 as well.

Major improvements on the camra app –

The camera app in the new update has been completely redesigned and now features new swiping gestures, etc.

And that’s not all, there are a variety of different new improvements with the new update it is definitely going to be something that everyone should look forward to. This might as well be one of the major visual change that we have ever seen with Samsung UI even though it is not much.
