Exynos-Powered Samsung Galaxy Note 9 Gets Certified by FCC
(June 26th, 2018)
Today, the international version of the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 with the model number SM-N960F got certified by FCC. FYI, the earlier launched Galaxy Note 8 and Galaxy Note 7 smartphones came with the model number SM-N950 and SM-N930 respectively. While the SM-N960F will be the international variant, the US variant will likely come with the model number SM-N960U. While the US and Chinese variants come powered by the 10nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, the other markets will be getting the Exynos 9810 powered Galaxy Note 9 devices.
With the Galaxy Note 9, the company is also rumored to introduce its first ever 8GB RAM smartphone. It will be coming horizontal dual cameras on the rear along with a rectangular fingerprint sensor. Apart from several LTE bands, the FCC listing also confirmed the Galaxy Note 9 to feature Bluetooth, NFC, and MST. With the NFC and MST, the device will be supporting Samsung Pay mobile payment service.
After the Galaxy Note 7 fiasco, Samsung came back hard with the Galaxy Note 8. While the specs will be an incremental upgrade to what we have seen on the Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus, we aren’t sure what new features Samsung will be introducing with its upcoming flagship device. From the leaked images, the device still sports Infinity display with top and bottom bezels. While the power button is on the right edge, the volume rocker and Bixby button are placed on the left edge.
The USB type-C port, 3.5mm audio jack, loudspeaker, microphone, and S Pen are placed on the bottom edge. While we expected to see the in-display fingerprint scanner on this device, the latest rumors hint the company to introduce this new technology with the Galaxy S10 smartphones.
