As far as the specs are concerned, we have already covered a bunch of reports regarding the same and we suggest you take a look at those on our website. Earlier – Ever since the Galaxy S8 smartphones have launched, the rumors about the next Galaxy smartphone i.e the Galaxy Note 8 have started coming. We have already covered by a bunch of reports surrounding this smartphone. Recently we covered a report which stated that this smartphone will sport a Galaxy S8 like Infinity display with wider angles. And now according to the new reports which we have, it looks like the phablet will be powered by an upgraded Snapdragon 836 SoC.
Yes, you read that right, a Snapdragon 836 SoC and not the 835. Well, now you might be wondering where this new 836 SoC is coming from. If you have been following Qualcomm’s strategy, then you already know that they are known for launching a slightly upgraded SoC. They did it with the Snapdragon 821 as well which was just a small upgrade over the Snapdragon 820. Now coming to the Snapdragon 836 SoC, this is also expected to be a slightly upgraded SoC.
As far as the rumors are concerned, the Snapdragon 836 is said to feature a 2.5GHz octa-core processor and also a 740MHz clocked GPU to go with it. This, as you can see, is not a major upgrade over the Snapdragon 835 SoC which is currently powering some of the smartphones like Galaxy S8, HTC U11, etc. Also, this new SoC will be fitted in all the smartphones that are releasing in and around the third quarter of 2017.
Samsung Galaxy Note 8 being one of the smartphones which is expected to ship in the third quarter of 2017, it is highly possible that it will be powered by a Snapdragon 836 SoC instead of the existing 835. Apart from the Galaxy Note 8, few other smartphones which are expected to come with Snapdragon 836 SoC are the LG V30, Google Pixel 2, etc. Do make a note that none of this info is confirmed and these are all just the initial set of rumors which we have.
