Samsung Galaxy M40 to Launch with Punch-hole Display & Triple Rear Cameras

Samsung introduced the all-new Galaxy M series to compete with the Chinese manufacturers in the budget segment. Earlier this year, the company launched the Galaxy M10, Galaxy M20, and Galaxy M30 smartphones. The company is long rumored to launch the Galaxy M40 with the high-end specifications. The latest report suggests the company to launch soon the Galaxy M40 smartphone in the Indian market. It might continue to come with the glossy finish polycarbonate body.
Under the hood, the device comes powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset instead of the in-house Exynos chipset. All the earlier launched Galaxy M smartphones came with the Exynos chipsets. As per the Geekbench listing, the device comes powered by the 10nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 Mobile Platform coupled with Kryo 460 CPU and Adreno 612 GPU. The recently launched Galaxy A70 also came with the same chipset.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro priced at Rs 13,999 is currently the most affordable smartphone to come powered by Snapdragon 675 chipset. The Galaxy M30 powered by the in-house Exynos 7904 is currently retailing for Rs 14,999 in India. As seen on the Galaxy M30, the upcoming Galaxy M40 also comes with a triple camera setup on the rear featuring an ultra-wide-angle sensor and a depth sensor. The device will be offering 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.
The Galaxy M40 will also be the first M-series smartphone to run on the latest Android 9.0 Pie based One UI out of the box. Samsung is yet to mention the ETA for One UI update for the earlier launched Galaxy M series smartphones. The Samsung Galaxy M40 will be backed by a 5,000mAh battery and might support 15W fast charging. Even the Galaxy M30 came with the same battery capacity. On the front, the device sports punch-hole Super AMOLED display.
On the connectivity front, the device offers 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, 3.5mm audio jack, and a USB Type-C port. We also expect the company to introduce the in-display fingerprint scanner for the first time in the Galaxy M series with the Galaxy M40 smartphone. The company will reportedly launch its new Galaxy M smartphone next month in the Indian market for around Rs 25,000.
