Samsung Galaxy J8 with sAMOLED Infinity Display & Dual Cameras Goes on Sale for Rs 18,990



Last month, Samsung has officially launched the Galaxy A6, Galaxy A6+, Galaxy J6 & Galaxy J8 smartphones. While the Galaxy J6 is already on sale, the Galaxy J8 now goes on sale via online and offline stores. The device comes in Black, Blue, and Gold color options and is priced at Rs 18,990. The company is also offering one-time screen replacement for just Rs 990. However, the device has to be purchased and activated on or before July 31st to avail this offer.

There is also Rs 2,000 cashback offer from ICICI bank and Paytm, which brings the effective price down to Rs 16,990. On the design front, the Galaxy J8 2018 comes with a metal unibody design with slightly curved edges. While the power button and loudspeaker are placed on the right edge, the volume rocker and SIM card slot can be found on the left edge. Just like the 2018 Galaxy J6, the new Galaxy J8 also comes with the Super AMOLED Infinity Display.

Apart front camera, the Galaxy J8 (2018) and Galaxy A6+ share same specifications. While the new Galaxy J8 costs Rs 18,990, the Galaxy A6+ is priced at Rs 25,990. On the front is the large 6-inch Super AMOLED Infinity display with  HD+ (1480 x 720 pixels) resolution and 18.5:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood is the 14nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 octa-core processor coupled with Adreno 506 GPU and 4GB of RAM.

The Galaxy J8 (2018) offers 64GB of internal storage that can be further expandable via a dedicated MicroSD card slot. Talking about the cameras, the device sports dual rear cameras featuring 16MP primary sensor with f/1.7 aperture & 5MP secondary sensor with f/1.9 aperture. For selfies, there is a single 16MP front-facing camera with f/1.9 aperture. It runs on Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box with Samsung Experience UI laid on the top.

It is backed by a 3,500mAh non-removable battery that should give at least single of usage. The device sports rear-facing fingerprint sensor and also supports face unlock to securely unlock the device. It measures 149.3 x 70.2 x 8.2 mm and weighs 154 grams. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, 3.5mm audio jack, and a MicroUSB 2.0 port. Just yesterday, the company has confirmed to launch the Galaxy Note 9 smartphone on August 9th in New York.
