In the last few quarters, Xiaomi has shipped more smartphones than Samsung in India. While the Samsung Galaxy S devices are the best flagship Android smartphones, the company’s budget smartphones have never been on par with Xiaomi or Honor smartphones. The company is said to focus on the budget segment by launching India exclusive smartphones. We are yet to see a new Galaxy smartphone competing with the likes of Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro and Honor 9 Lite.
While there is no official confirmation, a new mid-range device is now spotted on the Samsung India’s website. It comes with the model number SM-J720F and is expected to be soon launched as Galaxy J7 (2018) in India. While the smartphone world is moving towards 18:9 display, the Galaxy J7 (2018) might continue to feature the 16:9 display with thick bezels on the top and bottom.
It will be coming with dual cameras on the rear and a single camera on the front. Both the front and rear cameras are accompanied by a LED flash. The device will also come with Bixby Home. As of now, there is no information about the launch date of this device. Talking about the specifications, the SM-J720F was earlier listed on GFXbench. It sports a 5.5-inch display with HD (1280 x 720 pixels) resolution.
Under the hood is the in-house Exynos 7885 octa-core processor coupled with Mali-G71 GPU. It includes 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The Galaxy J7 (2018) will be running on Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box. There will be a 13MP dual camera setup on the rear and an 8MP selfie camera on the front. It will be offering all the basic connectivity options along with 4G VoLTE. Stay tuned on PhoneRadar for more details!
