Best Upcoming Smartphones of April 2018 – Expected Specs & Features

In the month of March, we have quite a few launches in the Indian and Western markets. However, there are even more interesting launches happening in the coming month. The smartphones which are launched in the last couple of weeks will go on sale starting early April. The below list also includes a few devices that are already launched in the global markets. In the coming days, these devices will be made available in Indian market.

• Nokia 7 Plus

HMD Global unveiled a bunch of Android One smartphones at the MWC 2018 and the Nokia 7 Plus is one of them. The company is holding a launch event in India on April 4th. The leaks revealed the company to launch the Nokia 7 Plus in the Indian market. However, we might also see the new Nokia 6 2018 alongside the Nokia 7 Plus. The Nokia 7 Plus is the HMD Global’s first 18:9 smartphone. It is also the first Snapdragon 660 powered smartphone to launch outside of China. It got a 12MP + 13MP dual camera setup on the rear and a single 16MP selfie camera on the front. For the first time, HMD Global is using ZEISS for both the front and rear cameras. While there is no confirmation, the Nokia 7 Plus might be launched as Amazon exclusive in India.

• HTC U12+

Last month, HTC unveiled the Desire 12 and Desire 12+ smartphones with 18:9 display. Now, the company is all set to unveil the flagship HTC U12+ smartphone in the next few weeks. Unlike last year, the company might not launch the HTC U12. With the HTC U12+, the company will be introducing the 2nd-gen Edge Sense technology. Talking about the design, the device will be coming with glossy finish Liquid Surface design. On the front, the device sports a 6″ Quad HD+ display with the longer 18:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood, the device will come powered by 10nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 Mobile Platform and includes 6GB of RAM. In the camera department, the U12+ offers a 16MP + 12MP dual rear cameras and an 8MP single front camera.

• Asus Zenfone 5 & Zenfone 5Z

The Asus Zenfone 5 and Zenfone 5Z smartphones are unveiled at the MWC 2018. Now, the company is expected to launch these two devices in India in April. Both the devices come with same design and almost similar specs. While Zenfone 5 comes with Snapdragon 636 octa-core processor, the flagship Zenfone 5Z sports 10nm Snapdragon 845 octa-core processor. The devices come with a notch display that offers 19:9 aspect ratio. In the camera department, both the devices share the same camera sensors. There are 12MP + 8MP dual cameras on the rear with AI Scene detection. There is also Asus’s Animoji clone called ZeniMoji. For selfies, the devices come with an 8MP front-facing camera. The smartphones will be running on Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box.

• Honor 7A

We have seen almost half a dozen budget smartphones from Honor in the last six months. Now, the company is going to launch a new smartphone called Honor 7A in China. The device comes with a metal body and 18:9 display. Unlike other budget smartphones, the Honor 7A sports stereo speaker for an immersive audio experience. There is no fingerprint sensor on this device, but the company is offering face unlock as its replacement. It comes with the Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box. There will be a 13MP + 2MP dual rear cameras on the rear with LED flash. On the front is the single 8MP camera for selfies and video calls.

• Huawei P20 & P20 Pro

A few days, Huawei unveiled its latest flagship smartphones at an event held in Paris, France. The company unveiled the Huawei P20, P20 Pro, and Porsche Design Mate RS smartphones. The company is already teasing the launch of the Huawei P20 smartphones in India. The Huawei P20 and P20 Pro come with a 2.5D curved glass on either side of the metal slab. As seen on other 2018 flagship devices, both these new devices also come with display notch. Under the hood, the P20 smartphones are powered by the Kirin 970 AI chipset. On the front, both the devices offer the same 24MP selfie camera. While the P20 comes with Leica dual cameras, the P20 Pro comes with Leica triple cameras. They come with the latest Android 8.1 Oreo-based EMUI 8.1 onboard.
