Samsung recently announced two J series handsets, J5 and J7 in India, and we have got the J5 device with us. Launched as the gaming device, the J5 packs pretty decent specifications for a mid-range smartphone. Though, it is not exactly on par with current smartphone scenario in the Indian smartphone market.
The J5 packs a 5-inch Super AMOLED HD display and is powered by a 64-bit Snapdragon 410, which is the master of handling the gaming experience in the mid range smartphone as we have tested it in the Redmi 2 and several other devices over the couple of months. The new J series handset packs 1.5GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage, which can be expanded via microSD card slot up to 128GB.
The device packs Android Lollipop 5.1.1, which is the latest version of Android available in the market right now. The Touch Wiz UI on the device is pretty smooth and looks like have taken a queue from Samsung Galaxy S6, as it resembles many features and appearances.
Talking about the cameras on the device, the Autofocus rear camera module is of 13MP resolution with f/1.9 aperture and LED flash, which is again a decent offering for a INR 12K smartphone. You get a 2600mAh capacity battery, which should technically give a whole day’s charge considering the hardware it comes with.
These are the things that come stuffed in the retail unit:
- Samsung Galaxy J5
- 2-pin Wall Charger
- MicroUSB Cable
