Samsung Galaxy J1 with 4.3-inch display, Android 4.4.4 launched in India for Rs. 7190
It was only the budget range where Samsung has recently not launched any competitors to the lot coming from the Chinese manufacturers. As the South Korean giant prepares for one such device, there is not much being seen here as well – the Samsung Galaxy J1 is the next smartphone, to be available for the price Rs. 7190.
Recently, Samsung also launched the Z1 smartphone running Tizen OS, but with J1, they are sticking to what the company holds the highest share with – Android OS. Running through the spec sheet, we see the device having a 4.3-inch WVGA PLS display, 1.2GHz dual core processor (Cortex A7 CPU and Mali-400 GPU), 512MB RAM, 4GB internal memory expandable up to 64GB. These are no where in competition to the budget smartphones available currently, from brands such as Xiaomi, Acer and Micromax.
It is a Dual SIM smartphone with two GSM MicroSIM cards support, and the J1 runs Android 4.4.4 KitKat OS. The device comes packed with a 1850 mAh battery, and the cameras include a 5-megapixel rear, 2-megapixel front-facing shooter. The rear camera can capture videos at 720p quality. The connectivity options include 3G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0 with GPS/A-GPS/GLONASS.
The TouchWiz UI in the Galaxy J1 seems to have some standard options we see even in the mid-range smartphones. These features include Ultra Power Saving Mode, and the selfie camera features in the app, such as Palm selfie gesture, “Tap to take pic”, and such. There is FM Radio available as well.
The smartphone is now available for the price of Rs. 7190 on Amazon India, and there are a couple offers bundled along for the buyers:
1) Data offers worth ₹600 available on Reliance Communications and Aircel 3G/2G networks for your mobile.
2) Free content package worth ₹1,400 to be availed on Starsports.com.
It is available in White, Black and Blue color variants, of which, the Blue one currently isn’t in stocks.
