Samsung Galaxy Fold Display Issues Reportedly Fixed, Suggesting Launch is Imminent

After multiple reports of display issues, Samsung is said to be bringing its first foldable smartphone — the Galaxy Fold back into the market, according to Bloomberg’s new report. The company’s first flagship foldable phone has faced a lot of criticism for its display issues reported by multiple media outlets as their review units’ displays had eventually broken. Samsung had later delayed the launch after the outrage and promised a fix for the reported issues.
And, as promised Samsung is said to have fixed the Galaxy Fold issue with a two-month redesign of the company’s first foldable smartphone, suggests the report, wherein it cites the people familiar with the matter. However, the launch date of the Galaxy Fold isn’t still known regardless the Korean tech giant had already an event scheduled on August 7 to launch its latest flagship Galaxy Fold series. It is still speculative whether the Fold would be launched alongside the Galaxy Note 10 or it will have a separate launch date to release to the consumers altogether.
The report further indicates that Samsung is currently close to producing the Galaxy Fold commercially into the market after fixing the earlier reported issues that include screen malfunctions occurred during the removal of a screen protector, for instance. Samsung is said to have made the protector hide under the outer bezels of the screen instead of placing it as a screen protector.
The report also suggests that the new redesign of the Galaxy Fold also includes the reengineered hinge as well, which was one of the reasons the display of the Fold had issues, due to debris slipping through the hinge and causing foldable display issues. It is said that the new hinge would now flush with the display when the device opens or closes. The tension created during the stretch of the display might also help create less crease in the middle of the screen than the earlier variant released of the Galaxy Fold.
Well, the noticeable reported issues with the Galaxy Fold appears to be fixed with this new redesign, hence we can expect a more durable foldable display on the Galaxy Fold smartphone, the launch date of which is yet to be known. The earlier launch date of the Galaxy Fold was scheduled on April 26, globally. Stay connected to PhoneRadar for more such interesting updates.
