At the beginning of this year, Samsung launched Galaxy Fit and Galaxy Fit e fitness trackers alongside the Galaxy S10 smartphones. Almost four months after the launch, the company recently made them available in the Western markets. Now, the company is teasing to launch the cheaper Galaxy Fit e in the Indian market. Apart from teasing on Flipkart as coming soon, there is no other information revealed about the India launch.
The company is yet to officially announce the product name of the device. However, the image of the upcoming fitness tracker on the Flipkart listing looks similar to the earlier announced Galaxy Fit e. In the UK, the Samsung Galaxy Fit e was recently launched for GBP 35 (approx USD 45 / INR 3,100). Coming to the Indian market, we can expect the company to price it more aggressively in order to compete with the budget fitness trackers from Chinese brands like Xiaomi, Honor, and Lenovo.
Talking about the hardware, the Galaxy Fit e comes with a 0.74-inch Monochrome PMOLED display with 128 by 64 pixels resolution. Apart from time and fitness data, the display can also show notifications when paired with a smartphone. It comes with military-grade MIL-STD 810G certification and is also water resistant up to 5ATM (50 meters). With the Auto Workout Tracking feature, the Galaxy Fit e can automatically detect three different activities including walking, running and dynamic workout.
The 70mAh battery on the Galaxy Fit e can last up to 6 to 7 days on regular usage. It comes with Bluetooth 5.0 LE support for paring with smartphones. The fitness tracker includes heart rate monitor and accelerometer sensor. It packs just 128KB of RAM and 4MB storage. It measures 40.2 x 16 x 10.9 mm and weighs just 15g. Both the activity trackers are compatible with Android 5.0 or above with more than 1.5GB RAM and iPhone 5 and iOS 9.0 or above. Stay tuned on Phone Radar for more details!
