Samsung Galaxy A8 with 5.7-inch 1080p Display, Fingerprint Scanner Launched for Rs. 32,500

Samsung launched the Galaxy A8 in India for Rs. 32,500 (approx $508), it is the successor for Galaxy A7 which was launched earlier this year. The device is just 5.9mm thick though it’s not the slimmest device in the market. It is available in colors – Black, White, Gold and is available to purchase through the company’s e-store.
The smartphone comes with metallic side bezels and even with a thickness of just 5.9mm the company offers fingerprint scanner. It comes embedded into the physical home button below the display. This is by far the slimmest smartphone ever launched by Samsung.
The A8 sports a 5.7-inch Full HD (1920×1080) Super AMOLED display and under the hood there is a Samsung Exynos 5430 octa-core SoC instead of Snapdragon 615 which was found in Chinese variant of Galaxy A8. The device has 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, along with it there is also a microSD card option (up to 128GB support).
Coming to the camera, there is a 16MP rear camera with Optical Image Stabilization and LED flash along with 5MP front-facing camera for selfies and video calls. It comes with dual SIM dual standby support. The device packs a battery of 3,050mAh capacity, which the company says can last for 304 hours on standby.
It runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop based TouchWiz UI and comes with a hybrid SIM card slot, with which you can insert a microSD card instead of SIM card. Connectivity on the device includes 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, NFC, GPS/A-GPS/GLONASS, and microUSB 2.0. The smartphone measures 158.0 x 76.8 x 5.9 mm, while the Galaxy A7 measures 151 x 76.2 x 6.3 mm. The A8 weigh 151 grams which is heavier than its predecessor by 10 grams.
