Samsung Galaxy A2 Core Running Android 9 Pie (Go Edition) to Cost Rs 5290 in India

Last month, the press renders of the Samsung Galaxy A2 Core were leaked online along with key specifications. According to the latest news, the Samsung Galaxy A2 Core will be launching soon in the Indian market for Rs 5,290. It is the company’s second Android Go smartphone and is the successor to last year’s Galaxy J2 Core. It is also the first Android Go smartphone in India to come with Android 9 Pie (Go Edition). The Galaxy A2 Core will be competing with the Redmi Go, Xiaomi’s first Android Go smartphone, priced at Rs 4,499.

Talking about the device, it sports polycarbonate body with a 16:9 display on the front. The device will be available in Black and White color options. We can also spot the Samsung branding even on the front of the device. It comes with the same 5-inch qHD (540 x 960 pixels) TFT display as seen on the Galaxy J2 Core. Under the hood, the device comes powered by the Exynos 7870 octa-core processor clocked at 1.6GHz. It comes coupled with Mali T830 GPU to handle the graphics part. There is 1GB of RAM for running the Go edition apps which are lighter in both size and features.

The internal storage is doubled from 8GB to 16GB on this device and the users can further expand the storage up to 256GB using the MicroSD card slot. As said earlier, the Galaxy A2 Core runs on the latest Android 9 Pie (Go edition) which was first announced in August 2018. However, the manufacturers kept on launching the smartphones with the older Android Oreo (Go Edition) including the newly launched Xiaomi Redmi Go. Coming to the camera department, the Galaxy A2 Core sports a 5MP rear camera with f/1.9 aperture and a 5MP selfie camera on the front.

Just like its predecessor, the new Galaxy A2 Core is also backed by the same 2,600mAh battery. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, 3.5mm audio jack, and a MicroUSB 2.0 port. Both the power button and volume rocker are now placed on the right edge. The device measures 141.6 x 71 x 9.1 mm and weighs 142 grams. In the coming days, the company will also launch the Galaxy A70 smartphone in India. It was announced recently alongside the Galaxy A80 smartphone. Stay tuned on PhoneRadar for more details about the upcoming Samsung Galaxy smartphones.
